Buffalo MN Real Estate

old minnesota house

The Buffalo MN real estate market is a mecca for Minnesota home buyers who are looking for a community with fabulous fishing lakes, good schools, great home values, and a nice place to raise a family in Wright County.

Buffalo MN began vacation mecca for the wealthy residents of the Twin Cities area. Its drawing card was Lake Pulaski, a large body of water teeming with fish and adorned by upscale resorts dotting its perimeter. Besides the great fishing in this beautiful lake, the convenient location made this place a tourist hot-spot. A train ride from the Twin Cities to Buffalo was only an hour long.

Here are some Buffalo MN real estate listings that were recently posted on the MLS/IDX system:

The Buffalo MN real estate market still attracts people for the same reasons. Minnesotans prize this area for both Buffalo Lake and Lake Pulaski, and the fish that live there. The town is still only a short drive west of Minneapolis along MN Highway 55. In fact, you can get there in about 40 minutes. The difference is that the town now attracts people that want to live there year round.

Plenty of Good Reasons to Buy Buffalo MN Real Estate

There are a few other reasons for buying Buffalo MN real estate. This town of about 11,000 people offers a an active arts community and cultural scene. The Buffalo Community Theater is a well-known and integral part of this scene, and produces several productions every year. The residents of Buffalo are strong supporters of arts and culture; the Theater is completely funded by members of the community. The Wright County Chamber Chorus, the Buffalo Community Orchestra, and the Wright Ringers Bell Choir are avidly supported by the townspeople as well.

The town also has a few other things going for it as well. Besides being the seat of Wright County, it enjoys a strong business sector, including major shopping facilities like Sears, Target, and Walmart, as well as a myriad of specialty shops. There is a major hospital, cinema, and numerous fine dining venues. The Buffalo Championship PRCA Rodeo is celebrating its 54th year in 2008, and is an important revenue-generating event for the entire business community.

Outdoor enthusiasts can, of course, enjoy those two big, fully recreational lakes. There are three golf courses to choose from, a number of parks, walking trails, a skate park, and beaches.

Buffalo schools are second-to-none. Independent School District 877 has a reputation for producing graduates that do very well in college. Young families are attracted to the area because of this reputation. They know that their children will leave the Buffalo school system with solid, down-to-earth values and excellent preparation for the world of work.

Homes in Buffalo MN

No one can predict the future. However, with the rapid growth of population in the areas lying between St. Cloud and Minneapolis, you don” width=”405″ height=”250″ />

According to the Northstar Regional MLS, Buffalo is offering 162 single family homes for sale; the average asking price of $287,381 makes home ownership a viable option for most people. Keep in mind that this number is skewed upward by a small handful of homes that are for sale at much higher prices. Unfortunately, the Northstar Regional MLS does not offer median price statistics, which would give you a more accurate view of just how affordable prices here really are. However, if you are looking for something more upscale, there are some lake shore estates on Lake Pulaski available for purchase. For the rest of us, there are plenty of great choices still available under 200K. To accommodate the growing baby boomer population, there are plenty of one level detached and twin home townhouses for sale. Demographic trends tell us that these sorts of dwellings will enjoy an increasingly stronger market niche.
