Real estate in Dassel, Cokato, Hutchinson, or the surrounding areas might be just for you… In fact, the Dassel-Cokato area is home to my family. We reside in a location that is close to where Wright, Meeker, and McLeod counties all come together. The Hutchinson real estate market is also a core service area for me. Hutchinson is only a few miles away, and is a major business hub for this area.
We don’t know where we would find a better place to live, work, and raise our kids. Minnesota schools surpass other states for ACT scores and a number of other benchmark tests. This is especially true in our part of the state. The quality of the local school district is always an important re-sale factor. Our local school system’s reputation supports the values of both Dassel real estate and Cokato real estate markets. In fact, Dassel Elementary and DCHS were recognized as “National Schools of Excellence,” and Cokato was Elementary recognized as a “State School of Excellence.”
Our state’s economy is diverse and resilient. Our state has one of the lowest poverty rates in the nation. A home is still one of the best investments you can buy. It’s no secret that there has been a nationwide slowdown in home sales. However, market conditions are better here than in most parts of the country. Except for folks who were looking for a quick buck by “flipping houses,” most local home owners have done very well. It’s hard to imagine having a better service area for my realty business than right here! The growth of this area, and the rise of home purchases by metro commuters holds much promise for everyone.
Wright County
Wright County is conveniently located along the western edge of the Twin Cities metro area and is easily accessed by MN Highway 12 and Interstate 494. It is home to about 90,000, and county seated is in Buffalo, MN. Other cities include Albertville, Annandale, Buffalo, Clearwater, Cokato, South Haven, St. Michael, Waverly, Dayton, Delano, Hanover, Howard Lake, Maple Lake, Monticello, Montrose, Otsego, and Rockford. The Wright County MN real estate market is as large as it is diverse. Right now (2/8/08), the Northstar Regional Minnesota MLS reports about 1500 single family homes for sale at an average asking price of about $263,000. Buffalo MN home purchase opportunities include everything from luxury lake homes to starter homes priced in the low $100’s.
Meeker County
Meeker County contains about 22,000 residents and is county seat is Litchfield, MN. Cities include Watkins, Kingston, Cedar Mills, Cosmos, Darwin, Dassel, Eden Valley, and Grove City. Major routes connecting the area to the Twin Cities include MN Highway 55, MN Highway 12, and MN Highway 7. If you are looking for Meeker County real estate, there are about 200 or so single family homes for you to check out. The Dassel MN real estate market alone has about 50 single family homes for sale.
McLeod County
McLeod County is located west on MN Highway 7 or MN Highway 12 west of the Twin Cities, and the county seat is in Glencoe. Municipalities include Biscay, Brownton, Hutchinson, Lester Prairie, Plato, Silver Lake, Stewart, and Winsted. According to the Northstar Regional Minnesota MLS (2/8/08), there are currently about 331 McLeod County, MN single family homes for sale at an average price of about $197,000! The Hutchinson MN real estate market alone has about 155 single family homes on the market. This is an excellent time to buy a McLeod County MN home! The inventory is up and rates are down!
